UQ PhD student develops new composite welding process
A PhD student from the University of Queensland, Luigi Vandi, has developed a new composite welding process that has been adopted by Airbus and used in the A350. The process allows carbon-epoxy composite materials to be welded by integrating a thin layer of weldable material as part of the manufacturing process.
