The Queensland Government was proud to support Land Forces 2022, held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from 4-6 October 2022.

The region’s premier land defence event showcased technology, equipment and services related to the land defence sector.

Land Forces 2022 attracted record attendance, including key defence personnel and officials, government representatives, military procurement managers, equipment suppliers, service providers and industry leaders in the field of land defence capability.

Queensland Government stand

The Queensland Government and Defence Jobs Queensland (DJQ) had a high profile, open plan stand, positioned to take full advantage of prime defence contractors and Australian Army representatives.

DJQ partnered with some of Queensland’s leading defence industry businesses on the stand to promote our state’s cutting-edge capabilities. Joining us on the Queensland stand were:

  • ABI Coating Specialists offers a wide range of abrasive blasting, specialised light and heavy industrial paint coatings and customised paint systems for most types of industry including heavy automotive, bulk tanks, tankers, commercial and industrial engineered steel and defence force sectors.   • Asia Pacific Aerospace (APA) is an Australian company offering gas turbine maintenance, repair and overhaul for the GE-T700 series engines, as well as the Rolls Royce M250 and 300 series engines. APA is contracted to the US Navy for the T700 engines flown in the ROMEO helicopters by the Australian Navy. APA has facilities in Australia and Singapore.

  • Frontline Manufacturing supports national defence projects including LAND 121 and LAND 400. Networking reception

On Tuesday 4 October 2022, the Queensland Government and Rheinmetall Defence Australia co-hosted a reception for Defence and business leaders attending Land Forces 2022 at Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The reception was attended by 150 representatives from industry, Defence and government. Keynote addresses were delivered by the Hon. Cameron Dick MP, Treasurer and Minister for Trade and Investment and Mr Gary Stewart, Managing Director Rheinmetall Defence Australia.

TAFE skilling event

On Thursday 6 October 2022, the Queensland Government, in partnership with TAFE Queensland, hosted a workforce skilling information session and panel discussion during Land Forces 2022.

The session discussed building a sovereign defence industry workforce and provided insight into how companies can access veteran transition programs and upskill their existing workforce. It also provided an opportunity to network with key representatives from the vocational and tertiary education sectors, industry and Defence.
